Home Gym Routine to Burn Fat

A home gym routine to burn fat involves a lot of heavy repetitions and low weight exercises. Generally speaking, these routines are a lot more flexible than a routine to build muscle. The advantage of having equipment at home is that you can do your exercises whenever you wish. This gives you enormous flexibility in your workout schedule. Considering you have a good setup (and a variety of equipment) your options are endless.

The real secret to burning fat is to have a lot of high rep sets within a workout with little break in between each set. Do a home gym workout like that for about an hour daily and you will be well on your way to a lean physique. Remember to focus on large muscle groups, keep a steady pace and your heart rate high.

When you do this you keep your body moving and your muscles working against the fat in your body. Remember the more muscle you have in your body the easier it is for your body to burn fat and keep it off. That is why it is important to develop your larger muscle groups. When you do this, you will help your body stay lean and increase your metabolic rate.

Is your home gym schedule more sporadic?

What if you don't have one solid hour a day? Another strategy you might consider is to leave your equipment, especially a set of light dumbbells, right where it's visible, and make sure you do at least five high reps, high intensity sets at different times during a day. This is a much smaller time commitment. You could start your morning out with two or three high intensity sets of dumbbells flies for example.

When I say high intensity, I'm not talking about weight. You don't need to lift heavy weights to burn fat. What you need to do in your home gym is to use light weights and increase the number of repetitions. So you should use a weight of perhaps 15 or 20 pounds in each hand, and do three sets of dumbbell flies, each set being of around twenty repetitions.

You'll find that this gives you massive energy burn. If it's a little too strenuous on your shoulders, what you can do is use sets of different exercises instead of doing a single exercise. You can do dumbbell curls, you can do shoulder flies, you can lie on your back and do some chest flies.

Squats are also an excellent home gym exercise for burning fat because they use a lot of energy. Because squats involve some of the largest muscle groups in your body, over time the weights you use for your squats need to be heavier than those you use for your other muscles.

Generally speaking, I would suggest that you leave two dumbbells of the weight that you are most comfortable with for fat-burning arm exercises, and at the same time have a barbell loaded with the weight you are most comfortable with for heavy repetition squat exercises. Remember that you should be able to do at least twenty squats with this weight. These methods are a great way to burn fat with your home gym.

Remember that your home gym goals should be considered when building in home gym workout routines. Stay focused on a results oriented fast paced schedule and make sure you dedicate yourself to the program.
